It can be incredible how quite a few men and women do not understand this. Thank you for this incredibly informative write-up, and I appear forward to seeing much more inside the close to long term!
Are any of your boat instruments RS232C serial output, i.e. GPS, depth sounder etc?
I have a data logger I would like to recommend which accepts NMEA serial output devices.
Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NMEA_0183
Advise soonest.
Smooth seas,
Doug
Hello,
When you get to Nome be sure to look up Chris Brae. ou’ll probably see his sailboat at the dock. He also just finished sailing through the Northwest Passage! I’m sure you’ll have a lot of stories to share!

Hello:
First off we would like to offer you a BIG Congratulations on your accomplishment!!!!
Many thanks for all your work on the blog so that others can travel vicariously with you. We know how much work it is.
Question: What is the device (seen in the photos) that is around your bow? We assume that it is to protect the bow from ice. What is it made of and who made it for you?
Many thanks and best wishes,
Philip & Sharon
